Installing MSSQL outside AutoDownload

Instructions on how to install Microsoft SQL Server outside of AutoDownload.

Advice from SportIdent says not to install MSSQL outside AutoDownload. However it is not difficult to do so. If installing using AutoDownload does not work, follow these instructions:

  1. Download the installer from the Microsoft website
  2. Run the installer
  3. At the `Database Engine Configuration` step, enable mixed mode authentication
  4. At the `Database Engine Configuration` step, enter a password for the `sa` account
