CUOC is the orienteering club for members of the University of Cambridge. We normally have around 30 members of varying abilities, from complete beginner to international athletes. We train in Cambridge during the week and go to races at the weekend. We also organise a number of socials each term and several training camps throughout the year to new terrain, both in the UK and abroad.
The main club activities are training and racing. There are multiple training sessions every week, with technique training every Wednesday, circuits training (currently) on Fridays, and plenty of options for running training with the Hare and Hounds. We go on an annual Training Tour at the end of Michaelmas term, to an exciting wild area somewhere in the UK, and there are often extra training trips abroad during the other holidays. The main races of the year are BUCS, the Varsity Match and the JK Festival, all of which happen in Lent Term or the Easter Holidays. More information about our activities can be found below:
In order to achieve Full Blue or Half Blue Status, members must meet the following criteria:
Meet the committee, those jolly people who do all the hard work to keep the club going.
