Results

We have decided to void leg 17-18 on course 2, as the obvious route choice was removed later in the competition by a police cordon. We feel this is the fairest solution to all concerned. Although people on other courses may have been slightly affected by this cordon, we have decided not to void any further legs as the effect on these courses was minimal.

The split time page, Winsplits & Splitsbrowser remain unchanged so you can see how this affected various people.

Invitation

It gives CUOC great pleasure to invite you to the third Cambridge City Race. We will bring you intricate navigation around many of Cambridge’s famous colleges as well as the narrow streets and open spaces of our beautiful city. As well as offering you the chance to run through some of the oldest university buildings in the world, this year’s city race is a level B race and incorporates the annual Icenian Trophy for EAOA clubs, as well as being part of both the Nopesport Urban League and the South East Urban Orienteering League (SEOUL). What’s more, local club WAOC are putting on an race on Sunday at Brandon (details here)

Location

The assembly area/start will be located Jesus Green, an area of parkland immediately north-east of the city centre - GR: TL 450 592, Location link here. There will be no parking at the race, you are strongly advised to use public transport. Cambridge has a good Park

Important note for juniors

The current advice from British Orienteering is that juniors cannot be trusted to cross roads safely. The roads in Cambridge are narrow and busy with traffic, including many kamikaze cyclists. Therefore to avoid all major roads, we have had to confine the two junior courses to Jesus Green (inner city parkland area) and Jesus College. We apologise to those juniors who were looking forward to a city race and hope you will come again when you're an M/W18. However, in accordance with BOF Race Guidelines, parents of Juniors reaching age 16 before the day of the race may apply for them to 'run up' by contacting the organiser to confirm that their child is over 16 and then entering the open class. Parents of M/W16s eligible to run up who have already entered may email the organisers cityrace with confirmation who will update their entry accordingly.

No M/W16 may 'run up' without such confirmation being provided.
